I finished the front and back of the Shapely Tank today, in Polar Icecap, which is notably more blue in real life than it appears in the picture on my screen.

I thought I'd be doomed when it came to finishing the neckline, as my size 5 needles aren't particularly long. They can just about handle the length of the neckline if I do the front and back separately, however.

Maybe it will even be done in time to show it off at [livejournal.com profile] coraline's knitnight on Wednesday (but then I'll need to work on something else!).

I just don't have the patience for knitting, which strikes some people as odd, since I will knit chainmail or make jewelry or a bunch of other crafts, but there it is. I wish I did have the patience for it, because it would be so cool to be able to make a gorgeous tank like that.

It strikes me as odd, yes. I'm not sure I could do the chain and bead stuff that you do, not matter how beautiful it might be. :-)

I've found that I enjoy it quite a bit, and the repetitiveness of some patterns, like this one, has been a great way to quiet my mind (which I find lately that I desperately need), while still creating something.

yup! that's part of the value of knitting chain or wire and bead... THe hand is busy, the chattering mind has something to focus on...and I can meditate and hear the voice of the Gods.
