I need remedial girl lessons

Apparently one cannot have an evening gown altered unless one brings in the shoes that one intends to wear with it.

Except one doesn't yet own the shoes, because one has very wide feet, which makes shoe shopping a special sort of hell.

And here I was, thinking I was clever for bringing in the intended undergarments.

This is the part where I get gripey at all of the boys, who get to simply go out and rent a tux.

Well, as you've mentioned, they do actually *sell* tuxes. ;-) I know several people who own their own. They do actually *sell* tuxes, you know. ;-) I know several people who own their own. I even know where to find the best deal in the Cambridge area.

And, um, when will I ever wear an evening gown again? Prior to this, I haven't worn one since high school.

When you get home, I hereby charge you with finding (or hosting) an event at which I may wear this fabulous dress again.
