and the good news is...

That the hard drive on my laptop now has consistent problems rather than intermittent ones.

Why good news? Well at least now I have some reasonable amount of faith that it will demonstrate its problems while in the hands of the Apple repair folks, so they'll actually fix it, instead of sending it back to me, and possibly charging me money for the privilege.

*sigh*

Now to move everything I do back to the desktop machine again. I suppose the desktop was feeling unloved, anyway.

EDIT: And the additional irony? Just a couple days ago I purchased a month worth of wireless 'net at the Diesel, and promised myself I'd get out more, rather than working at home all the time.

The latest installment

For those following the saga, the laptop has returned, with its shiny new keyboard and its shiny new combo drive, even though the old ones weren't broken.

I upgraded to Panther, finally. Now for several hours of software installation so I can do the things I need to do.
