...or so there seem to be, in the color-naming department.

Today I bought a shirt in the color "Dionysus Wine," and another in "Hellebore Plum."

I can't help but think that if I find myself needing to mix up some flying ointment, or to rend the flesh from a mountain lion with my bare hands, I will know exactly what to wear.

Glad to hear that more art and design departments are having so much fun! I just bought some shoes that are sort of a burgundy color and the side of the box said "Vampire Red". :-) There is really nothing very creepy looking about these shoes...

not to take wikipedia as a absolute source, but...
In Greek mythology, Melampus of Pylos used hellebore to save the daughters of the king of Argos from a madness, induced by Dionysus, that caused them to run naked through the city, crying, weeping, and screaming.
(and hellebore is a greek word...)
