I bought a serger. I've wanted one for years, and on many occasions found myself thinking, "this task would be so much easier with a serger," but I didn't think I could really justify it. I was starting to think that maybe I really could justify it for my current projects, and I went into the fabric store "just to browse."
There was a 4-thread serger on sale for half off. I decided that the gods were speaking to me, and that what they were saying was, "Buy the serger. You deserve it."
I guess I don't have time to figure it out before I go to work. I'll play with it tonight, or over the weekend.
Now I need to find a source of cotton (or possibly silk, or even linen) serger thread, because my current project is natural-fibers-only.

Date: 2006-06-15 07:59 pm (UTC)I've come to learn that all serger cones are *not* created equal -- for instance, some have 1,200 yards, and some have 9,600 yards. Big difference.
I'm feeling a bit clueless about what I should be looking for, but I'm sure it will work out.
You should have known this was inevitable
